Permission to translate your page at http://metro.java.net/

Anja Skrba
Dear Sir,

My name is Anja and I am Computer Science student at the University of
Belgrade,Serbia.
I found your web page about Metro tools of a significant use for the
community.

Here is the URL of your page:
http://metro.java.net/guide/ch02.html#metro-tools

I was wondering if I could translate it to Serbo-Croatian language and
post it on my web site?

See, my purpose is to help people from Ex Yugoslavia (Serbia,
Montenegro, Croatia, Bosnia and Hercegovina, Slovenia and Macedonia) to
better understand some very useful information
about computer science.

I hope I'll hear from you soon.

Many kind regards,

Anja Skrba

Anja, if some people are not educated enough to know the English
language, that is *not* (!) your problem--they will have to sink or swim
on their own with regards to learning English. It's wrong to harm
yourself by taking time away from your own development in order to prop
up lesser-motivated people by translating to their native tongue.

Rather than waste umpteen hours translating technical text to Serbian,
spend that time developing yourself and your own technical skills.  You
and/or your parents are not putting you through school to be a
translating specialist, and you're not going to be able to compete with
technical wizards by doing activities more appropriate for an English major.

Regards,
Glen

PS:  The answer is most probably no anyway (and nobody here can grant
you permission), AFAIK the text is copyrighted.

PPS: If it was a university advisor telling you, a CS major, to leave
technology and start translating text into English, get another advisor.

Dear Sir,

2 weeks ago I have asked for your permision to translate your web page and I didn’t hear any from you since.

I really think that is important to connect ex Yugoslavian people with the information that I ‘ve found on your web page.

I hope that you will find time to review it,it would mean a lot to me.

All the best,

Anja Skrba
